El Estanque is a spring of underground origin located along the Hondo River, the natural border between Mexico and Belize. Its crystal-clear waters rise from the subsoil at a constant temperature, creating a perfect microclimate for extraordinary biodiversity. It is one of the most pristine and least-visited mangrove ecosystems in the entire region.
The kayak route takes us through the channels of the Hondo River, where the jungle closes over the water and the feeling of being in truly virgin territory is absolute. We observe water birds, reptiles, freshwater fish and the incredible natural architecture of mangroves weaving their roots over the water to create tunnels and natural labyrinths.
This tour is special for those who seek the silence and intimacy of the purest nature. No crowds, no structures β only the sound of water, birds and paddles gently cutting the surface of one of the most valuable and fragile ecosystems in Mesoamerica.
